After more than a year when we started shooting on Black Butterflies it will premiere here in Cape Town.
I must say I’m very excited about that.
This movie has changed my life quite a bit. I still remember landing on Cape Town airport the first time not knowing what would happen.
It was a warm welcome, my friend RC was waiting for me with Carice in the hall, they searched my bags so I was last to come out.
That night we had a great meal at Kleine Zaltze, a meal that was a start for a very hectic journey.
first I thought that I would never leave Zaandam, that I never would have kids, or get married.
So never say never is my new line at the moment.
Black Butterflies was an amazing project almost like Wit Licht, everyone who worked on that movie I still meet and speak.
I made new friends and learned a lot in the process. I found my new home and partner.
Things are going good here in Cape Town, and with the help of my friends it’s getting even a bit to easy.
I just Love Cape Town. Thank you to all who made that possible.
Yeah I know BAD BLOGGER.
I was busy for a while doing VFX with Mr. Jeremy Hattingh for “De Heineken Ontvoering”.
A Dutch picture with Rutger Hauer about the kidnapping of Freddie Heineken in the 80’s.
But where almost done just another week from this beautiful studio up in the Bo-Kaap in Cape town, spring is setting in a bit, it’s nice and warm.
We did not had much winter this year and everybody is complaining about that, not enough rain they say.
Well if it rains here it comes with buckets.
I have been very quiet for a bit because I use Facebook a lot these days to communicate with my friends overseas, so if you can to be updated more than this little website check out Facebook.
Hi Guys,
It’s been a while, Just started working as Data Wrangler on The Heineken Kidnapping here in Cape Town.
I not only take care of all data that comes from the RED Camera but I also transcode it to a workable file for the editor.
Long hours and not much sleep but hey it’s a living for now.
Keep you all posted more soon.
Hi there,
Long time no see. Life is just a bit tougher than I thought it would be on this side of the planet.
Finding work is hard and getting the right documents is even harder.
Went trough bureaucratic hell a couple of times, but now I’m certain that I will and can do it.
Marriage is one of the options but if everything fails you never know 😉
I know Zandi wants to marry me badly but she still does not understand that I think she is to young.
Where do I start.
Nothing much to say but I feel great.
I keep on loving Cape Town, it’s an amazing town and give me so much inspiration.
In my arms on the picture is Zandi Sibanda daughter of Linda during a new years braai. She is getting bigger and bigger and is jealous if I pay attention to other small critters.
It’s warm here, between 25 and 30 every day as you can see in my little app on the bottom of my site.
Life goes on, tomorrow my birthday I’m become 45 no clue yet what I’m going to do.
Maybe nothing….
Now the Ice Age started in Holland I think it’s a very wise decision that I came to Cape Town.
CT is a beautiful city with beautiful people. Lot’s of friend are thinking I lost my mind but I’m very happy here.
A few years ago you could lock me up in a darkroom with a square sun and I would stare to that monitor till the job was done. Now I go out to the beach (another thing that friends who know me better don’t believe) order a Long Island Ice tea and enjoy the fun.
So I relax a lot.
Things are a bit slow at the moment no work yet and no idea what the hell I’m going to do.
But I figure it out in the new year 2011 when I do a hardware reset and start all over again.
Yep it’s been a while.
Lots has happened and lots is changed.
To keep a short story long, I am staying Cape Town now (since just a week), I love this place so much that I decided to try to make a living here.
Yes a big shock for a lot of friends, but hey friends are forever and I will see them all soon.
A big shock for the family but hey I didn’t see them a lot anyhow.
But a lot of thanks to a very big friend, in Who’s beautiful house I can stay and sort my life out.
It’s quite different from what I am used to, Zaandam was irritating the hell out of me for a long time and I was not happy there.
So watch this little blog for more exciting stuff of follow me on Facebook for the details, see you all around.
Time flies when your having fun.
This is my last week here in the Bo-Kaap. Met a lot of very interesting people and made a lot of new friends.
I’m very curious how my trip back will be, I have the shivers already. It will be hard to leave this all behind, but I’m a big boy and just let it all happen.
